These people were often killed but were usually pathetic fools high on medication who had been encouraged to kill people  by family members and teachers. Some Gardai,not very many,were helping the IRA with confidential information which they got from Northern police. The RUC did the same for loyalists. The loyalists were the sweepings of the gutter who were recruited from orphanages.
