Karl Marx was known in the 19th century as the “workmen’s friend”.

Marx believed, after his Theses on Feuerbach of 1843 that a man is a product of nurture not nature. He was a materialist of the French school. France has thrown up many intellectual fads and the Germans have adopted a lot of them.

Marx was no friend of the poor. He lambasted those who sought a doctor’s certificate to get into the workhouse, a fate which befell many of the Irish poor in the 19th century. He could well have benefited from a testimonium pauperitatas himself given his destitution on arriving in London.

Marx spent a lot of his early life excoriating religion yet it is in religion that the spirit finds its highest consolation. Marx adopted the anti-Semitic views of his new found friends in the 1840's (see The German Ideology) and he repeated those views in correspondence in the 1870's.

Marx considered while travelling in Germany from 1876 to 1878 marriage to a rich old widow who was probably a spy in the German Secret Service.

Marx in his early prose ridiculed the fashionable young, jeunes des gants jaunes, and adopted the staid dress of Freemasons in later life.

More importantly, Marx plagiarised the Factory Inspectors Reports in Capital. He copied large drafts of those reports of industrial poverty and disease to flesh out his meagre, lifeless prose. He was blind to the fact that these reports were the work of Liberals and social reformers who would later give birth to the Beveridge report and the British Labour Party. The inspectors were factory owners themselves and government officials.

Karl Marx glorified Prussia's drive to unite German-speaking peoples. He  and his colleague Engels both took the side of Lutheran Prussia against Catholic Bavaria and Catholic Austria in the mid-1860s war.

Marx talked of capitalists being “hostile friends” (Capital,1865-7)  but this statement ignores the reality of price fixing cartels,monopolies and trusts which had developed at every level before he died.

Marx rejected the overtures of a social democratic Crown Prince. He referred to him as Viereck (“Square”). In his famous Circular Letter to Bracke, Liebknecht and Others (1875) he showed his true nature by excoriating those who accepted punishment in the same manner as “those who desire to teach what they have not learned”.

Marx was possibly manipulated by Stieber, the Prussian police lieutenant, Hincckeedy and Engels. He never suspected Engels of any complicity with Prussian agents.

Engels for his part ridiculed charity. Both decried the” pennies to the poor” practice which does as much good today in every country as the best developed system of welfare payments. In Germany 90% of people pay the 1% Church Tax.

Marx in his early writings accused small shop keepers of “tyranny” while his family were fed and clothed by the goodwill of small shopkeepers who proferred credit in Soho from 1848 to 1852.

Marx made some strange friends through his letters to The Times. These included the anti-Semite founders of the Social Democratic Federation, Hyndman, Bax and Morris and the Conservative MP Urquhart.The latter believed that "everything Turkish was best". Proof If proof were needed that when a devil goes out of a house it brings back seven worse devils than itself after travelling across dry, arid ground…

Marx complained about “generalized want”. However, this was in actual fact the reality of life in the Soviet Union under his literate disciples. Poverty is a permanent,stuntinting phenomenon of every society.

Marx took great umbrage at “promoters”. He showed his anti-modern nature by complaining about natural phenomena such as advertising which emerged in the 1840s.

His modern day followers should take note of his railing against homosexual prostitutes besetting his Soho lodgings in 1852 (The Cologne Communist Trail).

In modern times his followers allude to Catholic believers as “trying to set me drunk” in a reference to priests drinking blessed wine at Mass.

Stalin. His main apologist in the 20th century was described as “a grey blur in the revolution” by independent critics and writers. Stalin's arch enemy Trotsky whom he had murdered was described as “the most capable man in the party” by the arch revolutionary and founder of the Russian Bolshevik Party, Lenin. The man described by Lenin as” the darling of the Party”, Bukharin, was murdered by Stalin in 1938.

Perestroika. Attempts to renovate Stalinism with factory committees in the 1980s ignored the fact that these committees were responsible for most of the deadly denunciations in 1938 (Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago, 1970).

Lenin once wrote “Karl Marx did not provide recipes for the revolutionary cake shops of the future”. Yet in Capital Marx wrote of the managerial class making capitalists irrelevant and providing the means of socialism.By old Hobsbawm's translation this means middle management whereas Marx meant the Jeff Bezos's of his time.

This Marxist paradigm was used by Lenin after the 7th of November 1917 to run the Russian economy until April 1918 when it became clear that Russian exports were 0.5% of 1913 levels and the economy had collapsed, resulting in mass starvation.

Marx spoke with great authority on France and its periodic turnarounds in the 19th Century.

He claimed in his commentaries on these revolutions that Marshall Housman flattened the old revolutionary districts and built broad sweeping boulevards suitable for raking with cannon fire in any future revolution. He wrote these words without checking his facts. So if you are ever in Paris you will find the old Faubourg Saint Honore with its pre-1789 narrow streets suitable only for a single vehicle with John Law's Church and the hilly broad boulevard Saint Michel on the south inner side with its streets by their very nature unable to be traversed by cannon.

Marx wrote of the decline of the Faith due to revolutionary  upsurges. Yet go to the Saint Eustache in the first Arrondissement and you will see teeming congregations and private charity funded by Catholics, Protestants and Jews.

In Capital, Marx castigated the factory-owners of the reformed congregations in Lancashire and Yorkshire for reading the Bible on Sunday evening in those trying times when the industrial movement was taking hold.It was probably Mayor Joseph Chamberlain of Birmingham who this slight was aimed towards.This epigram originated probably with Engels who lived in Manchester amongst the Lancashire mill owners. Many of the mill owners were enlightened by their Faith and built mill cottages and tied houses for the teeming work force often escaping eviction, filth and disease, poverty and malnutrition in Ireland.

While Marx could justifiably talk of "ticket of leave men" i.e those released from a bond by written notice,we can rightly be sure that there is much to be suspicious of in Friedrich Engels in terms of manipulation of Marx and militarism in that he always believed in a statist,militarist Prussia. He published the Prussian Military Question barely four years before German Unification.

The scandalisation of the faithful and religion (7/2009)

A profound transformation in the relationship between the labour movement and the faithful is a prescient necessity. Socialists seek to meddle in every matter of common interest under the sun whereas Christian democrats draw from the Christian tradition. The origin of the doctrines, writings and observations of the pedagogues of the 19^th century was the Acts of the Apostles where charity manifested itself in those who “sold all their possessions and gave the money to the poor”.

 Secular matters are temporal and are governed by the Old Testament. In the Old Testament we read of the early call to nationhood of the Jews under King David. Some imagine that social democracy is inimical to Christianity or, more accurately, the Judaeo-Christian tradition. This is untrue. The long, slow, difficult transition from nomadic existence to political existence and stability is fraught with many wars, pitfalls and lurches backwards into slavery and exile in the early Jewish tradition.

In modern times we witness a transition between Kantian free thinking and primitive materialism in 18^th century Germany and France to the out workings of Rousseau and Voltaire’s atheism in Regicide France. Later came anarchism, socialism, syndicalism, existentialism, Stalinism, Trotskyism and ecology, a socially impairing and tragic course which made France prey to foreign invasion and conquest. France has spread its errors to the furthest corners of the globe and has become a land of thieves and criminals. There the police make no effort to enforce constitutional rights on property, the person and attrition. In Ireland people must shed their long held views on cooperation with civil policing.

Stalinism has fallen and we are now faced with the collapse of free market, unregulated capitalism. 

We must return to a society which perished at some time between the rise of the Norman Church –State dichotomy in 1066 and 1214. The anti clerical views of the British media in the 21^st centaury is not a sign of progress but a sign of moral ill health. (Only a tiny fraction of the Catholic clerics accused of scandalous behaviour of the quarter  of them charged have been found guilty by the courts. These allegations are based on the suggestions of impropriety by “spiritists  and mediums” (Isaiah) and as we know them today, psychiatrists and Humanists. There is no higher form of humanism than the Christian humanism of the Bible).

Revolution?

Revolution means “a turning around” or “turning backward”. Such a turnaround or moral renovation is a turning away from violence and atheistic barbarism.

There are many myths in England about the generosity of the Nordic and German Welfare States. The reality is that the bureaucracy eats up the wealth of Germany and the unemployed are destitute and homeless. The Northern European system of the Danish and Norwegian monarchies make for predictability in social relations. The Swedish welfare state is a myth.

In Germany the Hartz 4 social reform made under Hans Muentefering cut Social Assistance (Sozialhilfe) from 124 Euros a month to 90 Euros a month. Only the Christian Democrats opposed this manoeuvre by the Social Democratic Party. Rent allowance is also paid to the needy in Germany. As in Britain, there is a financial incentive to claim Disability Allowance (Behindertegeld). The German Christian Democrats, Lefts (Linken), to which Sinn Fein is allied, and Social Democrats showed their faces to the disabled by allowing experimentation with the stem cells of aborted foetuses. The German Disabled Federation condemned this diabolical scheme.

In Ireland those not qualifying for unemployment assistance which is not limited to the German qualifying period of one year receive 187.40 Euros a week indefinitely as long as they are capable of and available for work.Social Assistance is paid at the same rate as unemployment benefit.There is generous rent allowance.

People do not understand that the equivalent of the National Manpower Service, the government Careers Advisory Service, justly abolished by Thatcher in the UK, employs one hundred thousand bureaucrats in Germany and delivers only a couple of hundred jobs to  graduates. The bureaucracy soaks up the wealth of Germany.

In Sweden the unemployed single mothers are reduced to dire poverty by the

non-existent social state which is so widely praised in Britain, Ireland and the United States, an illusion shared by many Marxists.

In Germany Unemployment Benefit is set at the rate of a half of net wages for the duration of six months to one year. Their system is communal and there is no guarantee of Social Assistance in small towns because the Germans are a parochial people..The only positive aspect which is not shared by any other country other than Russia is the ten thousand Euro state gift for the birth of a child. The collapse of the German family and The Contraceptive Mentality required urgent action by the Christian Democrats after the 2007 General Election.

The employer- trade union conferences award unemployment pay in Denmark and Norway. In 2003 Denmark an unemployed worker is paid 80% of their previous wage according to sectoral wage agreements administered by the Lohnorganisationen.

Clearly the payment is for a limited period since we learn that there is compulsory referral for retraining by state welfare authorities. No social payments are made if retraining is refused.

The wealthy Germans?  The socially responsible Swedes? The generous Danes?

Chartism and its legacy (4/12/12)

Chartism was the first democratic movement of modern times. Its aim was essentially to bring about universal suffrage. In their social teaching Harney, O’Brien and Jones agitated for a return to the land of the industrial working classes and built model villages. Their agitation ended in 1848 when they marched on London. They ran out of steam thereafter and Marx latched onto the dogends which were left as usual, holding the large Irish element in contempt. Marx corresponded with Harney who showed little or no interest in having anything to do with Marx.

The Chartists’ ideals of a return to the land, housing estates and countryside communes were given new life in the period from 1900 to 1937 with housing estates in London and the development of new towns.

The vitality of the Chartists lives on. In 1918 universal suffrage was granted in Britain.

Arcadia.A reply to regicides (30/7/2013) (30/07/13)

1. A country without a chief or leader is characterised by chronic instability, fratricidal violence, universal greed, unregulated corruption and military and national weakness.

2. Diarmait Mac Cearraill died in Ennikillen at the hands of Fearon and Mc Sweeney in 571 AD. O’Beirne in his book Kings and High Kings (Batsford Press ,1978) failed to observe that the last of the Irish High Kings had come to Upper Lough Erne. The assassination is recorded in the Book of Durrow, Book of Clonmacnoise and Annals of the Four Masters.( Some research in a telephone directory in 1978 would have revealed this).

3. The moral imperative was not uppermost in Diarmait’s interference in church affairs with regard to the modern idea of freedom of religion and non interference in religious affairs.

4.The question of a monarchy in England is based not on privilege but on predictability in social outcomes, as the English jurists teach since the English kings claimed to rule by Divine Right conferred upon them by the Vatican before 1532

5. The proper form of patrilineage is to be found in Saint Matthew’s Gospel.

6. The Irish are a violent, greedy, lawless, rebellious and idolatrous people whose behaviour has allowed them to fall prey to foreign occupation, famine, disease, slander, racism, brutal exploitation and systematic fleecing by financial pirates and  freebooters.

7. It should be observed that if Sinn Fein increase their representation in the Dail Ireland will become increasingly isolated (and US investment will disengage) .It should be noted that this  party is the party of regicide par excellence. It is the poor who do not want to be the victims of random violence ,welfare degradation and socio-economic dependence who form the backbone of support for the head of state. It should be noted that the German Nazis describe themselves as Republicans.

Christian Democracy and Social Democracy (28/11/12)

Marx once wrote in the context of a revolutionary programme drawn up by the Eisenachers that the programme of the Social Catholic movement (‘Das Zentrum’) was the origin of most of the practical programme of social democracy. By social democracy was meant in the 1860s the drive to disposess all independent businesses. He condemned those who called for agitation against Das Zentrum.

In the 1930’s Das Zentrum was known as the People’s Party and under Von Papen gave their votes to Hitler. Von Papen was murdered soon afterwards. He gave his votes to Hitler because of the danger of Stalinism.

In 2004 the Hartz Four changes of the SPD meant that Income Support was cut from 124 Euros per month to 90 Euros per month. Germany is a rigid bureaucratic country and the differentials between workers and unemployed grew.

The Christian Democrats and Christian Social Union opposed this heartless manoeuvre and subsequently came to power.

The Irish press has been carrying many transparently false stories about Irish kingship since the 1930's e.g. The Irish News claimed that the last of the O'Connor s entered the Jesuits in the 1930's whereas these so-called High Kings were unknown outside a tiny area of North Dublin . They lie and make deliberate errors. Irish Kingship is based on the law of  tanistry or succession to the son of the second cousin (col ceathrar).The Irish high kings were always drawn from the Mac Cearraills of Eskra,County Tyrone. Tara was abandoned by Diarmait Mac Cearraill in 567 AD after the Battle of the Book.Diarmait  died in Inis Ceithlinn at the hands of Fearon  and Mc Sweeney in 571 A.D. and his decendants settled  in Doire Linn.

The Celts are tall and light haired as a type and originated in the Nemeretszvo region of the Southern Caucasus in 2000 BC. The Book of Invasions was recorded on the basis of faithfully transmitted poetic histories of the saoieanna by Brother Micheal O’Cleirigh. It records that Tuan Mac Cearraill was a king in 448 BC approximately. It is incontestable that the Cretan bireme was the means of transport from France, Spain and the Continent to Ireland.

At the end of kingship, there is no equity or rule of law or due process.

In 1989- 1990, I devised a Programme of Irish Socialists which I circulated to over a hundred trade unionists, unemployed groups, tenants groups, residents groups and politicians. In 1995 this plan became the National Development Plan after fourteen and a half million Irish pounds had changed hands between the brother of the General Secretary of the Labour Party,Ruairi Quinn, and Guinness Mahon Bankers.

Judge for yourself from what I recall from the contents of this plan as to who is responsible, as principal, for the transformation of the South.

The plan was on one page as follows:

 1: Transport. Motorways between Dublin and Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Derry and Belfast. A tramway for Dublin. Electrification of the railways.Extension of the Dart to all suburbs in Dublin.Construction of an Undergound to link Connolly ,Heuston and Pearse Street Street Railway Stations.

 2: Health. Public health insurance.

3: Education. Free university education. Democratic control of primary and secondary schools.

4.: Housing. Demolition of all slums and construction of family houses.

5: Communities. Libraries, sports centres, leisure centres,town libraries,local arts centres and community halls. Olympic stadium .

6: Dublin Pedestrianisation of streets with O’Connell  Street turned into a concourse for public meetings .

7: Taxation .A progressive income tax.

8: Defence. Compulsory military service

9: The North. Irish Unity and decriminalization of the IRA.

10: Irish language. Irish language TV station.

11: Fiscal matters. Repudiation of the National Debt.
12: Nationalisation of the means of distribution, production and exchange.
13: Agriculture. Keeping as many people on the land as possible.
14: A new Constitution.

Ruairi Quinn is still the prisoner of these ideas in the field of education as is is Adams as regards the National Debt.

I have moved on and returned to the church.

China: Democracy, Family and an orderly Transition to Democracy

In 1983, I was asked for a slogan for Russia by radicals. In 1991, a fundamental change took place in Russia. Since 1991 three churches a day have been built there. In 1999, a slogan for China was solicited from myself  by a radical with U.S. leanings . In 2005 I came under pressure again for my views on China from a former Hong Kong resident with links to the US Embassy in Paris. In the case of Russia there was a lapse of eight years. In the second case, an answer is still awaited.

The future for China lies in a political freedom which reflects its economic freedom. The abortion mania must cease  along with the ban on other political parties and the politicisation of the army and police.

An overturn is required. The Chinese Communist Party made a Great Leap Forward  from state ownership between 1974 and the present.

A political change must match this shift. There must be an end to the one party state.

 My slogan for China: Democracy, Family and Trade Unionism.

Richard Barrett ( Cusick) is the former gauleiter of People before Profit, a front group of the Socialist Workers Party and he was formerly of Globalize Resistance, SWM, TCD SWSS etc etc. He won a place in the Dail because the maverick republican, O Broin, stood aside.

I have known Barrett Banger Cusick for many years. I am a Law graduate who took a close interest in political economy which I studied for fourteen years. I submitted a plan and prospectus for fighting elections in 1995 to this group. Bitter fruit, I now think!

In the early part of the last decade, Cusick TD and Allen were the main spouters at  Socialist Worker gatherings. I attended these meetings. A constant theme of Cusick’s rhetoric was payments to corrupt politicians. Hypocrisy! While claiming Unemployment Assistance, Cusick TD was drawing two hundred euros a week (2003) from donations by SWP members and has done so for many years.

I am a Law graduate with a first in Philosophy of Law and fourteen years of study in political economy, pure economics (microeconomics) philosophy, European, US and Russian history and languages of which I speak six.I am a worker’s son, something Cusick is not. Cusick TD decried me as a “paranoid schizophrenic” in front of a packed gathering of SWP delegates in 2003 along with Bryce and Wingfield.

Strange fruit of years of organising meetings in the radical history sphere and writing articles on misappropriation of Peace and Reconciliation funds,health and safety exposures and labour movement activityand organising trade union recruitment drives.

Why is it that few of us see the” kleptocracy”(Max Keiser) at work in our midst? Strict national accounting is not incompatible with a Growth Pact. But one fly in the ointment remains. Why are Central Banks lending to clearing  banks at 0.5% to 0.75%  per annum and governments selling the National Debt bonds to them at 2.4% yield on a three month bond as in the South (5 July 2012)..This question- simple enough to resolve- defeated the micro-mind of Karl Marx.

Marx claimed in connection with the French banking crisis of 1852 that the rules governing banking were “extremely complicated” rather than a simple case of maintaining adequate cash reserves to cover inflation and cyclical loss of confidence. In Capital (Volumes 1 to 3, 1862 to 1866) he wrote that  the National Debt played a key role in providing banks with regular funds and underpinning the banking system. He claimed wrongly that industrial capital always wins out over finance capital. The opposite is the case when people seek A Soft Seat as industry falters in the face of decline.

Bank borrowing from the State Central Banks and their lending back to the Ministry of Finance is a con-job which illustrates Marx’s ignorant probing for an answer to the fundamental liquidity of banks.

Marxism-once again found lacking!

Migrant labour in Holland, 1980 (27/12/12 ff). Reactionary labour disturbances

Migrant labour is, as Gunther Walraff wrote in his book on Turkish labour  in Germany in 1985, degraded and abused historically. Before health and safety laws, social democratic governments and the Social Chapter of the European Union foreign workers were often subjected to inhuman conditions. In 1980 in Holland I experienced the work places in which the lazy, local youth would not work for their pay.

In May 1980 I went to Rotterdam to work in the docks of Europoort. Two or three Dutch agents would bring us from the Central Station to a pub in the suburbs where we would have a morning coffee before being sent out to the port as day laborers. Our tasks involved cleaning out the sediment of crude oil from the oil storage tanks of BP and Shell. We were exposed to benzene fumes. A Tyneside expatriate who had just lost his job as a welder in the ship building industry related that exposure to these fumes within the tanks for more than ten to fifteen minutes would lead to leukemia .

In the docks we cleaned out the sediment of maize from the US double-hulled Liberty ships which still plied their trade across the Atlantic. We were also sent to clean the sea salt from the hulls of oil tankers in dry dock on late night shifts. Other tasks involved loading and unloading grain. On returning from the last task in the work van which was driven by a German refugee from military service, I noticed a commotion at the gates.\It became clear after |I asked the driver to stop the van to talk to these Dutch workers that there was a strike at that warehouse.I gave these militant Dutch workers almost all of the cash -38-118 Guilders and kept 5 Guilders for myself for   camping fees,food and fares-I had in my possession,reminded them that they should man a picket line from early morning and wished them well and success.They let out a large cheer and we left. I told my German colleague not to go back to that workplace on the following day. I was later refused work by the agents for four days and around this time was sent to demolish kilns and work with oil effluent.I never returned to that workplace and never saw another strike.

The Dutch!

We were paid sixty guilders a day and usually worked three days a week. The maximum wage for a Dutch worker of our age was limited by Dutch law to one hundred and eighty guilders for a five day forty hour week.

I soon left Holland but realized it is the Turks, the Germans, the Irish, the English and Yugoslavs who perform any productive employment in that country.

The Dutch? Their famous welfare system? Their protection of foreigners? Their famous tolerance?

A reactionary strike. "Outlander uijs".

If recollection,a fading memory,serves me correctly were not these Dutch workers carrying cardboard placards saying "Uitlander uijs" since some Dutch workers are well-known for breaking their own strike and,as I recall,they dismounted from the van before these noisy scenes and some countries hosted reactionary strikes at the time as fascism was in the air  and,shortly afterwards,the International Longshoremen's Organisation tried to procure my services in Cologne before I went to Stuttgart-Mettingen to work for Daimler-Benz for ten weeks.

Germany 1981. Auslanderhass.

In June/July 1981,after completing my law studies for the Freshers' year,I again ventured back to Germany. Firstly I went to Munich to work in the stores of a truck assembly plant for 396DM (£99) a week for a 39-hour week then further north to work at panel-fixing at heights (Montage,Kevag, Koblenz) for a Herr Breitreiner,a German labour sub-contractor from Bavaria(Bayern). The pay was 999-1002DM (£250) per week for a 56-hour week but I was attacked by fascist agents in a beer-tent  and suffered a summer of brutalisation and exploitation at the hands of a Kosovar Muslim.

Again,fascist riff-raff made their appearance at the building site with a similar piece of German cant,"Schwarzarbeiter 'raus"on their home-made cardboard placards after the style of an old American bore,

a call very much the work of a well-heeled Cork ass and follower of Richie Ryan,Garret Fitzgerald and Fine Gael...these reactionary German strikers of a Nazi hue were soon found out to be what the Germans call  "Faulenzer" and "Biersaufer".I  displayed my student health insurance certificate from Norwich Union to them which I had taken the precaution to pay for. The Southern university students had taken out no such health insurance.

It remains to me a puzzle why so many Free State and German and Dutch riff-raff are treated as anything other than lazy,oafish bores..

Bluffs to gain employment?

"You're playing a dangerous game because you've told a number of people that you broke a strike when in fact you didn't,not knowingly anyway since you don't seem to know yourself,and are in line for a hiding. 1.In trade union publicity in 1999 ,I noticed the trend after the English- Marxist- radical- liberal tradition for countries which had been defeated in war to pay a tribute in goods, food and services to the victors i.e. Britain and the US.

2.In.2003 I predicted "the deepest crisis since the 1930s" and so it has come to pass as illiquid banks have hit the wall. In 1990 while I was living in Dublin-in front of the Central Bank,to be precise- I noted to Micheal O’Muireagain of Sinn Fein that bank reserve ratios were too high in Ireland because the Irish had copied the English practice of £1.50 loan to £1capital  ratio compared to 4:1 for Germany and 6:1 for the US. O’Muireagain was a convicted bank robber and traded my ideas for a position as a languages instructor at Deutsche Areospace in Bad Altona  while claiming to demote me from secretary to member of an unemployed action group he controlled. He was disappointed- I left. (I had gained a renewal of the lease on the group’s premises and the role of secretary was handed over to an illiterate, ambitious adulterer).

3. In September 2008 I predicted "a double dip recession". In late 2011 the economy plummeted for the second time in one period of recession.

Why recall this millionaire non-entity who clearly suffered like his followers from paranoid schizophrenia? 

Because the inventor of psychiatry,Freud, was a cocaine addict and wealthy parasite who formed the modern paraphrenia  of psychiatry.He died in 1939 but has left an enduring legacy of medical poisoning, pathological ideaisation and police terrorism. Today, cocaine is retailed by the big American and British-Irish companies as an anti-depressant. This drug is marketed under the brand names Olanzepine, Modecate and Prozac for the " solution" of the perfectly-normal phenomenon of depression.

Legal and medical numbskulls at the City Hospital and Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital have diagnosed “schizophrenia”,a condition that not even they can elucidate, in Catholics with degrees in Law, Biochemistry, Music, Textiles, Arts, Management,Art and M.Sc.’s  in polymers and so on. When not airing gibberish nonsense,they are before the courts for murder.Legal remedies come too late to stop the British persecution of Irish Catholics.

The problem is that the police think that the conscientious advocate or journalist is close to rumbling a leading police informer.

I predicted in writing  a “coming crisis” in 1999 regarding the devaluation of stock price to earnings ratio i.e. return on shares. In 2003, I published this prediction orally at trade union meetings. I have  spoken since 1990 about the falling loan capital toloan ratio as being necessary in Ireland. I predicted-on the record-“the worst economic recession since the 1930’s” in 2003 at my trade union meeting. Was I right or was I wrong? Let us examine what happened.

In the 1990’s, America had about fifth of world industrial output and dominated as it still does the inventory of new patents. It ran a budget surplus. China had about one fiftieth of world industrial production. US indebtedness, as President Obama says, was due to fighting expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and cutting taxes and not paying for the wars other than through indebtedness. The US has recently extended indebtedness by two trillion dollars to 14.3 trillion dollars. The Chinese today produce fourteen percent of world industrial output,equivalent to the US. Obama says that there must be tax rises in the face of trenchant opposition in the Senate.

What I got wrong in 1999 was a failure to foresee US borrowing at a frenetic pace. A recession normally falls every eight to ten years in the world economy, lasting for two years. US debt accumulation and the devilish, inflationary, house- building mania delayed the onset of recession until 2008.

It is the deepest crisis since the Second World War in Britain, Ireland and the US. However, US employment figures are up (August 2011) and Britain has recorded over half a million new manufacturing jobs since the Conservatives came to power in May 2010. Britain has also shed a quarter of a million public service jobs which were created from 2007 to 2009 by Gordon Brown. That employment was wasteful.

Is the recession coming to an end? Yes, emphatically, yes! Manufacturing is the way forward. Britain, Ireland and the US are pursuing the proper course.

The German economy is not what it appears. People are mired in uncertainty, unhappiness, a bloated bureaucracy and pessimism about the future because of The Contraceptive Mentality which is choking off growing demand for houses, goods and services. The reality behind the rhetoric- and I’ve got it right, not like professional government spin doctors- a growing population equals a growing demand for houses and goods equals falling unemployment equals an accumulator effect equals growing trade equals growing prosperity.

Therefore we must protect the family and the unborn. They are our future!

Jesus was much more critical of the medical profession and said “Physician, heal thyself”. Surgeons emerged in Greek and Roman times in an age of military aggression and domestic peace. Our Lord adopted a more cautious and critical approach in his Divine Word.

Remember your mother’s advice: Do not mix with those older than yourself. Pill popping contraceptive queens from the reformed religious communities are often the tools of the political police anxious to batten down the hatches of student radicalism and social democracy in the universities.

Two such femmes fatales of my acquaintance ruined my career at the Bar after romantic encroachments on my right to a private life. Both were engaged in private prostitution, according to a contemporary report in a Sunday tabloid newspaper.

Beware young men of three in a bed shenanigans with women who are invariably engaged and are the honey trap agents of devious string pullers in the intelligence services ,the blood relations of these ladies of high standing.

A principal is someone who is responsible in civil law for the (un) authorised activities of his agents. Unlike a monarchy a noble in a republic cannot be regarded as a "fountain of justice" (fons iustitiae) a source of equity. Republics are based on regicide.

My instructions for what I termed a "peace process" was inspired by the glasnost revolution of the social democratic leader Mikhail Gorbachev. They were

1.     reconciliation with unionists and a return to Stormont

2.     taking seats in Stormont as part of a power sharing arrangement

3.     the end of the armed struggle  and eventual destruction of arms and dissolution of the IRA when there was real progress on funding

4.     recognition of the southern parliament (1983)

Taken together these formed the leitmotiv of a movement which reached fulfilment in 1998.

As a secret leader in those days, I can take the responsibility for the positive developments in republicanism but abhor their subservience in our times to MI 5 monitors in their ranks as part of “confidence building measures” (Adams) and “reciprocal arrangements” (McGuinness).

That plan and me 2/2012

In APRIL 1989 I devised a Programme of Irish Socialists which I circulated to over three hundred trade unionists, unemployed groups, tenants groups, residents groups and politicians. In 1995 this plan became the National Development Plan after fourteen and a half million Irish pounds had changed hands between the brother of the General Secretary of the Labour Party at that time,Ruairi Quinn, and Guinness Mahon Bankers.

Judge for yourself from what I recall from the contents of this plan as to who is responsible, as principal, for the transformation of the South.

The plan was on one page as follows:

1: Transport. Motorways between Dublin and Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Derry and Belfast. A tramway for Dublin. Electrification of the railways.Extension of the Dart to all suburbs in Dublin.Construction of an Undergound to link Connolly,Heuston and Pearse Street Street Railway Stations.Western Orbital Route.Short haul buses for Dublin.

 2: Health. Public health insurance.

3: Education. Free university education. Democratic control of primary and secondary schools.

4.: Housing. Demolition of all slums and construction of family houses.

5: Communities. Libraries, sports centres, leisure centres,town theatres and community halls. Olympic stadium .

6: Dublin Pedestrianisation of streets with O’Connell  Street turned into a concourse for public meetings .Extended National Museum to include  Leinster House and National Library witth  Dail moving to College Green  and Trinity's copyright status to be trnsferred by law to National Library in West Dublin.

7: Taxation .A progressive income tax.

8: Defence. Compulsory military service

9: The North. Irish Unity and decriminalization of the IRA.

10: Irish language. Irish language TV station.

11: Fiscal matters. Repudiation of the national debt.
12.Agriculture.Keeping as many on the land as possible.
13.Nationalisation of the means of production, distribution and exchange.
14.European Community.Democratisation.

Ruairi Quinn is still the prisoner of these ideas in the field of education as is is Adams as regards the national debt.

I have moved on and returned to the church.
